I discovered this great new blog called Bright Bazaar. So very colorful to browse through every morning.I just built some bookshelves and desk, and this yellow plaid couch would work amazingly in here. I'll put up photos soon of it...

Button Carpet

I just ordered this carpet for the new baby room. Not too childlike but not too grown up either. I believe it is just right for me and the little one to enjoy. Katherine Yaphe is an old friend of mine and she is the founder and designer of Oliver Yaphe. The photos are from her site and this carpet has been on my wish list for over about 6 years. Glad i have a good excuse to bring this into my home :)

In my ongoing obsession of stairs...I have my eye on these carpet runners that I saw on Y&Co website. They link to one of my favorite sites for rugs called Dash & Albert Carpets. The styles that get me excited these days are dish-towel style. And Roger Oats has this winning style Cluny in Denim and Raspberry color.

Taxidermy bling

I am always looking for new ways to adorn the mantle and space above the fire place. Here is another winning piece of art from Tamar Mogendorff. Her deer head is perfectly classy and neutral to fit into any space.

Headboard

This is a great find on the net. At Marie-Claire, Idées...this is a DIY that's worth putting time in to do. I've found alot of these felt flowers already made at fabric stores and places like Omers des Serres, which they market to the scrapbookers. It's a lovely addition to sleepy-time.

Last week I wrote about a dazzling set of stairs i came across as an option for redesigning my steps. This afternoon during my blog readings, i have another to share with you. This is a very tasteful design I found on Lolalina. One, two, three, let me see!

Put a sparkle into your step

I came across this image on line last week. I should have made a note where from. Sorry. When I was renovating my house last year I came across these jeweled tiles and was trying to figure out where I can use them in the house without looking like a flattened disco ball. With this image in mind, I am rethinking the whereabouts of bling placement in the home for our next project. I like la bling!

Weekend jaunt

This holiday season there are so many craft fairs to attend. This weekend we headed to the Plateau where the most talented ones are found. We came across these gems who's artist information I misplaced. I adore these little creatures. Imagine taking over a whole section above the mantle of your fireplace of these miniature fake taxidermy.

Vintage

I love discovering anything vintage. Dropping a vintage design into a contemporary setting is very exciting. This website i discovered does just that. The works here fit in any modern day settings but still maintains an old school shape with an exciting new twist. My mother always preaches to me to leave the past in the past...but no matter what its past is, look now at its bright future.

Visual oh so stimulating!

My first intro to design was in a far away land walking by a far away place. It was the most expensive clothing store in the city. They were famous for their window displays. What i loved about it mostly is that i was far from being able to afford the clothes they were selling, but what i appreciated was that they appealed to everyone's senses no matter what amount of $ we had in our pocket. They were the only store in the land that welcomed poor students like myself at that time to waltz in there without feeling intimidation, stroll around, and gaze and tickle their merchandise and then turn on my heels and walk out without a bag of new digs in my hand. I admire stores who share their love of merchandise with those who can easily fall in love with them too. My next project will hopefully be a store front window and i hope to create that spark in a young persons' memory too.
