Taxidermy bling

I am always looking for new ways to adorn the mantle and space above the fire place. Here is another winning piece of art from Tamar Mogendorff. Her deer head is perfectly classy and neutral to fit into any space.

Prints on paper

This new artist also demonstrates the layering effect that i am intrigued with. I find the works whimsical, like pages torn out of a Fairy Tale.

Will Cotton's tasty visual treats

Will Cotton paints absolutely dreamy paintings. When I saw Katy Perry's music video California Gurls I immediately thought of Will Cotton and the next thought was "rip off"...but to my tasty delight, he was the artistic director! What a relief! Check out his site and grab yourself some leftover valentine sweet treats too..Now I am thinking of Sofia Coppola's 2006 Marie Antoinette with Kristen Dunst...Maybe he had a roll in artistic direction there too for those dessert scenes..

Chachkas

I grew up i in a home with lots of porcelain in my family's curio cabinets. They covered every inch of those shelves. I've never enjoyed having so many pieces around - until this discovery. Check this OUT! These little animals are created by Artist Hella Jongerius. He is a genius artist who zipped to the 18th century and brought to life old casts of Nymphenburg porcelain to create contemporary works of beauty. This is my generations kick-a%* porcelain art. I certainly wouldn't appreciate today's collection if it weren't for the ones i couldn't appreciate as a child. Thank you mom!

TORONTO INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR October 28 - November 1, 2010

I went onto the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR site today and spent hours and i still haven't gone through all the galleries. Here are some highlights of the works i love that I had to share. Oh what fun it would be to hang these pieces. Oh yes, Shakedesign specializes in hanging works of art as well. My background in Art History hasn't left me yet. What better way to stay close to art than to hang them for my clients and help them arrange it on their walls. I found the ones you see on their sites...
